1. Stay
on Topic.
This list is about starting and running your own business. Please
help maintain this topic only.
2. Short Signature Lines. Your sig
is like the letterhead of your email. It's that part of the message
at the bottom where you identify yourself, even expressing yourself
creatively. That's fine, just keep it to 4 lines or less.
3. No Mass Mailings. We often receive
cute, funny, interesting things in our email, including virus
alerts, that we feel the world needs to see, or at least our friends.
Please do not include those here.
4. No Copyrighted Material. Copyrighted
material is anything that you did not write yourself. As a matter
of fact, even the things that you do write are copyrighted, but
since you own the copyright, it's okay to include it. Anything
else is not allowed. If you find an interesting article on the
world wide web, please post the URL and allow us to visit it.
5. No Advertising. Advertising is
not allowed on this list. This includes all forms of promotion,
such as product announcements, advertisement rates, sales, specials,
and anything else that has a purpose beyond that of the list.
I will recommend, if I may, that you contact
Destee to design a web site for you, then add your web address
to your signature file, which can be included on all posts.
6. Keep The "Noise" To A Minimum.
When you send posts to the discussion list that offer no real
content, advice or exchange information on how to start and successfully
run your own business, it's considered noise. Please refrain from
sending responses that say "me too", "yes,"
"no", "maybe", "ok", "thank
you", "hi", "smile", "where are
you", "email me", etc. This only fills up everyone's
mailbox with noise. : (
As you can see, the rules are few and simple. If you happen
to receive an email from me, asking that you adhere to them, please
don't take it personally. It is just my attempt to keep the list
focused.

We have a
vast amount of business expertise amongst us. Individuals who
have been in business for years, who have overcome the obstacles
and persevered, who have taken the "long way around" and can now
advise us on which short cuts are safe. They are here, willing
to help. All we have to do is ask the questions.
Thank you for your participation.
