As stated in the beginning of this thread, nothing can exist for any long period of time without BALANCE!
This is the main reason a lost and broken people have clung so heavily to religion in the first place. The knowledge of ourselves was lost/stolen which left us very un-balanced within, leaving us dis-eased and susceptible. As we are taught in the languang of physics, that there are 14.7 pounds of atmospheric pressure on every sq. inch of the human body. So in order to fight the pressure coming from without, you have to have an equal or greater amount of pressure coming from within. Religion, for the most part has served that purpose to combat the pressure coming from withiout to keep one balanced! Or should i say, to keep our ancestors balanced after a few generations or more had spent time in this strange land amongst strange people (ck the middle of the 13th page) and we lost our connection to our homeland and our own traditions. So to get us thru it was our ancestors INTELLINGENCE, meaning that they took the one thing they were allowed to hold on too and applied it to their daily routine and taught their children to do the same for over 400 years.
The problem here is that, our ancestors never meant for us to hold on to it forever. To prove that, all one have to do is listen to their songs, or 'spirituals' they both sang and wrote. And for those who keep putting religion and spirituality in the same box notice they didn't call these songs 'religiuals'. Only one's who know how to apply their knowledge can be deemed as intelligent. These are our ancestors who were able to send messages to each other in a foreign language (the slave masters language) right in front of him with a smile and he would have no clue that they plotting to kill him, or 'steal away' for the slave master never to see them again.
Now, if our ancestors were so in love with RELIGION why would they so readily be willing to risk their lives to 'steal away' every chance they got?
I humbly submit to you that once they achieved the balance they needed to fight the pressure coming from without, instilled into them by the 'good book' (does anyone even know where that term came from?) there was no more need for massa or the book that was being read to them on a daily basis. Our ancestors were not carrying these so called bibles as they fled. They weren't even allowed to have books in their posession, let alone the 'good book'. You could get whipped for getting caught reading. Our ancestors 1 goal was alwasy to take back what was stolen from them. A knowledge of self!
I'll stop right there for now and just answer the thread titles question again:
"are less intelligent people always religious" - Only when they CHOOSE to sacrifice their ancestors knowledge, for someone elses belief's.
