I know what I am going to say is polarizing and controversial but I could care less. I am being moved to make this statement.

I am sick and tired of Black people in America being ashamed of ourselves. I am sick and tired of Black people in America neglecting our roots because we don't feel comfortable with it. I am sick of Black people in America wanting to be what we are not. That includes the so called conscious community. We are a sad bunch of ragtag talk alot do nothings that romanticize over things that can not get us from point A to point B. I started another thread about who and what are we in regards to our origins. That fact is we know nothing about our origins but ancedotal references given to us by our eminent armchair scholars.

As we discuss nonsense, our very birthrights are being stolen and appropriated from under us by the ones many so called conscious people view as the enemy to African (Black) people. And we are ok with it because we don't give a ****.

We want to be Moors, Muslims (Arabs), Christians (people of Judea) and Jews (Hebrew Israelites). The truth is over 80% of our ancestors came from the environs of the western coast of Africa. If you look at the cultural retentions we have maintained, the majority of them have their origins among the Wolof, Mande, Akan, Ewe, Yoruba, Igbo, Bakongo and Mbundu peoples. These were the primary groups of our ancestors. These people were NOT Moors, Arabs, Christians or Jews besides the Wolof who converted to Islam due to proselytizing missions in the 1300s and the Bakongo who converted to Christianity due to the Portuguese slave traders and imperialists.

Even the Egyptian line is weak. What Egyptian cultural retentions do we have?

As we pretend to be everything but who we are, white folks are ever increasingly attempting to be babalawos, aborisa, vodouisants and the like. White people are now telling Black people about African Traditional Religions. White people are now saying Vodou is European, rootwork comes from the Pennsylvania Dutch and are setting themselves up as the experts. Your own traditions you are giving to white folks because in our minds they are nothing but a regression of the high culture of Egypt and Kush.

No one respects us because we don't respect ourselves. We think we know better than those ignorant pickaninnies that sacrifice animals and didn't build pyramids. We claim the whole world but ashamed to claim the homelands of our ancestors. Black folks... we are a perfect example of the saying "They forgot their history so they died." We wish to forget our roots for everything else and for things given to us by others.

We can rationalize how ever we wish but again if you want to know your roots and origins look none other to the people our ancestors came from when they were brought over as slaves.

Stop pretending Black people. Stop the self hatred and embrace your real origins. Anyone willing to prove that our ancestors were not Bambara, Wolof, Akan, Ewe, Yoruba, Igbo, Bakongo, Mbundu or any number of the surrounding groups feel free.

These traditions people speak of are our own. The history of the world is our own history. The moors, the dravidians, the jews, etc These are all people of Africa. In fact, every civilization up to this day owes itself to Africa and our ancestors who moved from place to place extending their knowledge across the globe. Why be angry about this?

People need to know their ancient history. We should not see Black History only as American/Slave/Civil Rights history. We should see our history as it is: **** near unfathomable and erased from memory by those who are still in power today. We are all ignorant of a great many things. I know quite a bit about metaphysics, "regular" physics, medicine etc and the like. You may know more than me about how to motivate people ie activism and such movements. It is the combination of all of our knowledge and skills as well as a focus that will get us "from point A to point B".

As I've said in another thread: we are missing context. You will talk about freedoms being lost as of the most importance, perhaps. I will talk of our connection to nature and nature itself being destroyed as the most important (after all, how are we to gain freedom in a dead world)? I would also say to you: all of these things have to happen at once more or less. We cannot only focus on educating people or the restoration of the environment. We have to talk about rewriting history, economic systems, political systems.. we even have to talk about declassifying documents about technology we'd need to undo this damage.

We need freedom not only from this system but from fear of doing different. We need people from every field to stand up and tell the truth about subjects which have been hidden or swept under the rug.

We all have our place. Mine is as a spiritual educator and as a builder. I have the know-how to build a house from the ground up. Not only mainstream b.s. houses but EARTHEN/organic houses. I know how to live in harmony with nature. That will be of great use. How great a use can you be? How great a use do you *want to be*?

But who told us we were west Africans, Bro? Was this passed down from generation to generation down our lines, then somewhere along those lines, some recent generation discarded this heritage, and chose to pick up others?

Or were the ones who control history and how we see it, who rewrote near everything of the past to fit their faces, and who still do to this day as you can see, who beat our heritage and languages out of us til we could no longer remember them if we wanted, the ones who said "we picked you all up from this coast, and that's your tribes"?

Aren't they the ones who control everything whereas with even a dna test, they can tell you your origins are from wherever they want them to be?

This people here in America aren't pretending, and not for shame of who they are, but quite the contrary. They are searching to find some pride in their own selves without being force fed a history that isn't their own.

All of this confusion as to who we are isn't because we can't accept where we really came from, but because we don't all come from where they say we do, and deep inside, we know this, and simply cannot deny that pull.

This is not to say certain people don't come from West Africa, but it's definitely not all.

When caucasians took charge, took slaves, took lands, they came as a force that most weren't at all prepared for. They gave a whole new definition to slavery, and those who they made slaves were any and all who were of darker complexions, regardless of where they came from.

Considering many lands were already interacting and mixing with each other before caucasians took over, there were many people who indeed were taken captive with a people not their own, but happened to be the same shade.

There's just so much they haven't let on, because it's convenient to them for us to be in confusion as to who we all really are or simply take what they tell us; "you're all from here, now deal with it".

Now, I don't believe everyone is who they say they are just because they stated it, but I do understand why they search for and reach for more than just West African. To just let them put us all in a box just because they can is just silly to me; caucasians haven't been around the earth for a minute, and yet they are the ones telling all people their origins. And what's funny is they're actually the ones ashamed of their origins and pretending to be a people they aren't. They took everyone else's history, painted their faces over it, and are now getting us to believe we're the crazy ones trying to take their heritage. Laughable.

Please don't fall for it. Even other races are coming to see where they've been lying all along, just not as soon as we've all seen it since we were the ones they beat into forgetting where we started. So, you may want to direct your words towards caucasians; but be warned, they're very delusional.
